NYPD Cop Shot in Brooklyn, Suspect at Large: Sources

An NYPD officer was shot in the leg in Brooklyn Wednesday and no one is in custody, two senior police officials said.

Cops were responding to a domestic call on Gates Avenue — at a Bedford-Stuyvesant address linked to a six-story apartment building — around 9 a.m. when they exchanged fire with the suspect, the sources said.

The wounded officer was taken to a hospital and is expected to be OK. It wasn’t clear if the suspect was hit.

Chopper 4 showed a sprawling law enforcement presence at the intersection.

No other details were immediately available.
