On July 1, New York City will pay all nonprofits the full amount they are owed under a new law — 50 percent of their annual contract award — according to the mayor’s senior spokesperson, Dora Pekec.
The decision comes after pushback and a planned rally Tuesday by hundreds of nonprofits that serve needy New Yorkers, and criticism from City Council leaders who indicated Monday they would hold hearings on the situation, first reported by NBC New York.
