Police are confirming few details after what they call “an escalating domestic situation” Sunday in Northampton, Long Island. An NBC New York crew saw numerous investigators at the scene well into the night.

“On Sunday, May 10, 2026 at approximately 2:43 PM Southampton Town Police received a call from an area resident,” a brief statement read.
Southampton Town Police say patrol units were dispatched to the residence in the area of Topping Drive. “Officers secured the scene and an investigation is ongoing with Suffolk County Police Department,” the statement added.

Authorities had planned to hold a news conference about the incident Sunday evening, but canceled shortly before the briefing was set to begin.
“There is currently no danger to the community,” police said.
This is a developing story. An NBC New York crew is at the scene and will have the latest on News 4 New York at 11:00 PM.
