Three people were stabbed at a community college in Westchester County, according to officials, and the suspects believed to be responsible have been taken into custody.
Multiple 911 calls were made just after 12:30 p.m. Wednesday regarding a stabbing at Westchester Community College in Valhalla, county officials said. Three people were said to have been injured in the incident.
One of the victims had been stabbed in the back, while another was stabbed in the head, according to law enforcement sources. Details regarding the third injury were not immediately available.
Two victims were taken to Westchester Medical Center. A spokesperson for the hospital described their conditions as “stable.” Any others involved in the incident, including the assailant, were taken to other facilities, the spokesperson added.
Two suspects were taken into custody at the college, and a knife was recovered at the scene, county officials said. No other suspects were being sought by police.
Students at the school were informed via text from police that the situation had been contained.
